A Little Short on Cash?

A little short on cash?

Before you attempt to pawn your retainer from eighth grade to pay for a conference or project, or worse yet write off going completely because of a lack of funds—take a step back and look at the bigger picture.

What about trusting God to raise what you need? God is willing and able to provide for your needs.

God says….

"So don't worry about having enough food or drink or clothing. Why be like the pagans who are so deeply concerned about these things? Your heavenly Father already knows all your needs, and he will give you all you need from day to day if you live for him and make the Kingdom of God your primary concern.” Matthew 6:31-32 (NLT)

God promises to provide for our needs when we go out on a limb for Him. Going on a project or to a conference is a prime opportunity for you grow in your personal relationship with God and be used to have a major impact on others spiritually.

Alright, ready to trust God? Ok! The next step is to act on that faith. You can do it--God is trustworthy. What do you have to lose by trying?

First, pray. Ask God for help. Ask Him to help you raise the money that you need and ask Him to help you to trust Him to provide! “For God is working in you, giving you the desire to obey him and the power to do what pleases him.” Philippians 2:13 (NLT)

Next, think carefully about how much you need to raise. Then, check out this plan for Raising Money for a Conference (download pdf).

The most common way to raise money is to write letters to people you know, let them know of your need, and ask if they can help you out. Use this sample letter (download pdf) to get you started.

Providing money is no big deal to God at all. He knows everything that you need now and will ever need. Trust God and see what happens! Who knows? When you arrive at your project or conference location, you might have an incredible story about how God provided everything you needed to make it!

Philippians 4:19 says, “And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.” (NIV)
