750-foot Zip Line
:: $15 per student
A new 750-foot running zip line over the Wind River Valley, spanning from one steep Rocky Mountain side of the valley to the other. The zip line is located in a pristine mountain valley and is a great chance to see and learn about the natural environment and the wildlife which abounds on the YMCA property.
A “running zip line” is different from other traditional zip lines in that a participant, once harnessed in and securely connected to the cable, launches from a platform and runs in for a landing on the opposite side. Top speed is around 25 or 30 mph and maximum height achieved is around 30 feet off the ground. Once to the others side, the ground gradually comes up under your feet as gravity slows you down, finally coming to stop.
*closed-toe shoes required
